Background:

Mr. Appel has over 22 years of foundation stabilization and repair experience.  He has provided analysis of foundation movement issues for homes, schools, solar foundations, commercial buildings, bridges, retaining walls, etc Mr. Appel has been personally involved with the installation of helical piers, resistance piles, micropiles, soil nail walls, compaction grouting and chemical grouting for hundreds of structures.  He has completed compression, tension and lateral load test on numerous types of piles, including helical piles (round and square shaft), micropiles, driven H/I beams for solar installation.  Mr. Appel has consulted with geotechnical and structural engineers on pile types and cost-effective methods for repair of lateral, tensile and compressive movement for, but not limited to, commercial and residential building foundations, solar foundations, transmission line foundation, equipment pads, lateral movements in fill soils and grouting to remediate vibrations. His experience and duties have included coordinating the business activities throughout the State of New Mexico, Texas, and Arizona. Mr. Appel has extensive experience in project management and supervision.

Relevant Experience:

Responsible for all daily business activities throughout the State of New Mexico, while overseeing Arizona Office for foundation repair contractor.

Project supervision and project management for Helical Piers, Resistance Piles, Micropiles, Soil Nail Walls, Compaction Grouting and Chemical Grouting (Resins, acrylamides, and polyurethanes)

Analysis of foundation settlement issues utilizing soil reports, manometer surveys and Engineering contacts.

Completed compression, tension and lateral load tests on numerous types of piles to include, helical piles (round and square shaft), micropiles, driven H/I beams for solar installation.

Completed load tests in AZ, NM, TX, CA.

Trained Geotechnical firms how to run load tests for solar field design.

Completed lateral and tension load test at 7 sites across NM for potential solar field installation. Work included installation of piles as well as testing.

Consulted with Geotechnical and Structural Engineers on pile types and cost-effective methods for repair of lateral, tensile and compressive movement for but not limited to commercial and residential building foundations, solar foundations, transmission line foundation, equipment pads, lateral movements in fill soils, grouting to remediate vibrations.

Responsible for analysis of foundation movement to determine the proper repair.
